President Sun, Han Minority, was born on November 12 of 1952 in Shanghai. He is an assistant professor, member of the communist party and instructor of master. In 1977, he studied for bachelor degree of history in Yunnan Normal University and studied for master degree of Northeast Asia history in 1983.
Authorized by Yunnan Provincial Education Department in 1992, he set up Yunnan School of Business Management. He was ever appointed as principal of the school and Director of School Affairs’ committee. Now, he is in charge of college affairs as the president of Yunnan College of Business Management.
He has being undertaken the work of non-governmental education and is one of the pioneers of Yunnan non-governmental schools. Conquering various difficulties between 1992 and 2007, he made the school size larger increasingly. And from 1998, he started to raise fund for campus construction. By best composition and unceasing accumulation, net assets of the college have reached 350 billions and full-time students have reached 10000. The college has gotten two leaps: from non-school record education to school record education in the level of running a school; from secondary vocational education to higher vocational education.
In the course of running this college, he established and designed college conception and administration frame. His experience in running voluntary college has become the asset of voluntary education in Yunnan Province. The dominant point among them is “insist on honesty, responsibility for students, parents and society”. Based on this idea, he emphasizes people oriented and humanized management, attaches importance to the construction of teachers’ team and awarding of young teachers, provides extensive space and stage for all staff to display their wisdom and pays attention to payment and life of staff so as to provide better service for our students. For the aspect of students, he requires strict management, on one hand. On the other hand, he allows students to have enough space to practice their ability and opens second classroom in order to enrich their spare time and educates their right attitudes and sense of responsibility to the life and work.
President Sun can speak English frequently. He started the education international phase for Yunnan College of Business Management. As early as in 1999, he spent lots of money in hiring foreign teachers in order to build a learning and speaking English environment. From then on, with his effort, the college established the cooperative relation with England South Lanarkshire College, Canada Arbutus College, Korea Konyang University, Thailand Eastern University to create a pathway for students to study abroad.
Mr. Sun has been learning and researching in higher schools. His rich experience about this is attested by his various works he wrote.
Research direction: world history, Southeast Asia History, Chinese history and culture and so on. He is interested in architecture, philosophy and botany.
Major works: Outline for Southeastern History (monograph), Brief History for Southeastern Asia (monograph) and so on.
